Teacher Team Linky Party
September 18, 2014
We've been invited to join a fabulous linky party by Created for Learning, centered around "Teacher Teams". We just can't wait to meet you all and learn about some other partnerships around in this teacher-world!!
Let's get to the fun. Question time!
Where did you meet?
Sam and I met at school. Surprised? She was a new kindergarten teacher, and I was a veteran in 4th grade. We didn't become friends until she moved up into 4th grade and we began to collaborate. It was a fantastic teacher duo from the beginning!
Who does what?
We both make PowerPoints and collaborate throughout the process. We definitely prefer making grammar and reading presentations than math ones. We try to keep each other motivated and on track, and we enjoy it most when we get to spend lots of time working together!
What do you enjoy most about your partnership?
That's so easy! We're the best of friends, and this is one of the ways we get to spend time with each other. Honestly, we question where we'd be without each other. Sometimes, you just need that partner in crime that you can say anything to. Yes, ANYTHING!
Do you have nicknames for each other?
I think I've heard her call me Crankypants once or twice- just kidding. Nah, think our title for each other is- my best friend.
What is your teaching theme song?
Golly, that depends... If it's the beginning of the school year? Theme from Rocky
End of the year? Let's go Surfing (Beach Boys)...hehehe
If you could dress up to go somewhere, what would you wear and where would you go?
OOOH! We'd go on a cruise together to somewhere tropical where they have fruit in the drinks! We'd bring our swim suits and some fabulous evening wear.
Which do you prefer, cookies, brownies, or neither?
Don't you hate OR questions??? Cookies, brownies, cakes, pies, chocolate, gummy bears! We're inclusive!
Name something you've created that you love using in your classroom.
It is so much fun to teach, especially with a great Nancy Darew character voice. The kids really get into being junior detectives in charge of finding clues to draw their conclusions. It is always a hit
A kick to teach, and a kick for the students. They walk seamlessly into independent practice after the guided presentation that explains coordinate graphing and walks them through the process of finding coordinate points.
This was such fun to participate in! We are especially grateful to our friends at Created for Learning for the invitation!
